Unit B:
A Changing Society
Change. It can be good, it can be bad, and it alters the way we think, live and act.
Between 1885 and 1914, Canada underwent a great deal of change. Our population increased and we became more multicultural; industrialization brought people off the farms and into the cities; and the time came for us to assist Britain in their wars, instead of the other way around.
Over the course of this unit, we will examine different factors of change in Canada. As your culminating assignment, you will choose one factor of change - or one group of people that experienced change - and create a multi-media presentation that will teach what you have learned to others.
